How will Universal Healthcare in America affect Health Insurance Companies?

I am watching Obama on TV, and he is talking about Universal Healthcare for all, similar to the healthcare policies of Canada and other countries. How will a plan such as this affect the healthcare companies? Are they going to lose their jobs?

   From what I’ve heard from Obama, he is planning on working with the insurance companies to provide universal health care while clinton was going to expand medicare/medicaid.
