I would first look and see if you can find a TV just as good for $500. (Technology Updates extremely fast after-all)
Also, keep in mind your insurance rate will be sky-rocket after making a claim.
Insurance money is not free money. You run the risk of your insurance being canceled, higher premiums, etc. I’d save insurance claims for those times you REALLY need it and chalk this one up to a learning experience.
Besides, it was apparently damaged by something you or your movers did. There is a chance it is not even covered. If you paid for this moving service, then that is who needs to pay.
